Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur's CSR Projects:

As a socially corporate responsible organization, Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur firmly believes in assisting the less fortunate whenever possible and actively organizes and participate in numerous activities and projects.  In the past, the Hotel has successfully organized various fund raising initiatives, organized ‘buka puasa' get-togethers for under-privileged children and continuously supported the Estee Lauder's Breast Cancer Awareness, Look Good, Feel Better Workshop.

Over the Christmas period of last year, the Hotel embarked upon a fund raising project to raise funds for National Cancer Society Malaysia in support of its numerous activities in creating awareness towards the fight of cancer.  The project was undertaken in memory of the late-Ron Brooks who was the Hotel's Resident Manager who lost his fight against cancer after a 2 ½ year battle.

For year 2010, today's 1Malaysia Chinese New Year gathering is the Hotel's 1st CSR project.  In August, the Hotel will again join forces with Estee Lauder in organizing the annual Breast Cancer Awareness, Look Good, Feel Better Workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to offer breast cancer patients and survivors a day of fun and at the same time learn makeup grooming tips so they can look good, and feel better eventually.

Synopsis of performances by children from StART Society:

Choir Performance

(1) You Raise Me Up

(2) Aren't They All Our Children After All

Note: Choir is from an original 100-piece choir that's been singing together for over a year now. They've sung at other major events like Miss World Malaysia and Nexus International Events.

Lion Dance (confirmed with 6 Lions)

Note: This troupe comprises boys and girls of 15 yrs onwards. They've been together for about 5 years plus now and are a very popular group invited for many events around Klang Valley throughout the year.

Hand Movement Song:

Pa Pa Ma Ma, Wo Ai Ni

Note: This is a hand movement song danced by 3 to 5 year olds. They've been practicing since last October. The song is about love and filial piety expressed through hand movements in the dance.

Dance Performance:

Dui Mian Ni Hai Kan Guo Lai

Note: Performed by 5 - 8 year olds, this is a rather cute performance where the kids are coupled up in the dance. The song is suitable for Valentine's and CNY celebrations which has the Valentine element in it also because it speaks about asking the "dear lady to look this way."
