HOTEL NIKKO KUALA LUMPUR EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS OF NEW EAM SALES & MARKETING AND DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES-17th AUGUST 2009Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur is pleased to announce the recent executive appointments of Mr Bennet Chang as Executive Assistant Manager, Sales & Marketing and Ms Wendy Ho as Director of Human Resources.

A seasoned hotelier, 42-year old Bennet Chang began his career in the hospitality industry in 1990 and has worked for a series of international hotels in Malaysia and Singapore in senior managerial positions. Some of the more notable postings in his portfolio include the Marina Mandarin Singapore, Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur, Palace of the Golden Horses, Duta Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur (pre-opening), The Regent Kuala Lumpur and Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur to name a few.

Bennet possessed immeasurable knowledge and skills in Sales & Marketing, operations and pre-opening of hotels, joins Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur fresh from his stint with the Eastern & Oriental Hotel, Penang where he was the Executive Assistant Manager.

In his new position as EAM Sales & Marketing, Bennet Chang will play a pivotal role together with the General Manager, Michael Borostyan to implement long-term strategic plans to acquire and develop new market segments for Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur, to ensure the continued growth of the Hotel ie to attain a healthy GOP and of course, most importantly to increase both Rooms RevPar and banquet revenue.

A graduate of the Hotel Institute of Montreux (HIM) Switzerland, Bennet holds a Swiss Hotel Management Diploma and an American Hotel & Motel Association (AHMA) Hotel Management Diploma with specialization in Marketing & Sales Management, Accounting & Financial Management and Food & Beverage Management.

Another seasoned hotelier who has come on board Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur is Wendy Ho as the new Director of Human Resources. With 30 years experience in the hospitality industry, Wendy began her career with the Hyatt Kuantan in 1979. Wendy's impressive portfolio include numerous appointments both in Malaysia and overseas such as with The Regent Kuala Lumpur, Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur, Saigon Floating Hotel, Vietnam, New World Inya Lake Hotel, Yangon, Galle Face Hotel Colombo, Sri Lanka, Equatorial Cameron Highlands and Hotel Equatorial Corporate Office in Kuala Lumpur as Group Director of Human Resources.

In 2005, Wendy joined the Parkroyal Kuala Lumpur and moved over to YTL Hotels and Properties three years later. Her latest appointment prior to joining Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur was with The Saujana and The Club @ The Saujana Kuala Lumpur as Director of Human Resources.

Human resources management, development, training and retention are some of the key factors in the successful operation of any organisation and without a doubt, Wendy will play an equally crucial role in managing the Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur's human capital to ensure that the Hotel will continue to forge forward positively with the right organisation structure and thus ensuring maximum return on investment for the Hotel.
