Last Christmas, Hotel Nikko Kuala
Lumpur set up a gigantic gingerbread Christmas
Charity Cottage to raise funds for Jason Ng, Nur
Natasha and Yayasan Harapan Kanak-Kanak Malaysia.
(YHKM).
Jason aged 3 from Bukit Mertajam,
Penang and Nur Natasha, aged 3 from Ipoh, Perak
required funds to undergo corrective heart surgeries
while Yayasan Harapan Kanak-Kanak required funds
to build a special home for children suffering
from HIV/AIDS.
Through the generous support
of the Hotel's supporters and public, the Hotel
collected a total of RM30,000-00 for the above
recipients.

Jason and Nur Natasha under the
'care' of New Straits Times' Donation Unit have
since successfully undergone corrective heart
surgeries. In view of this, the amount of RM15,000-00
collected for both Jason and Nur Natasha are now
channeled to The Malay Mail Big Walk 2006/07,
a project aimed at collecting funds to purchase
artificial limbs and walking aids to help children
with bone cancer who have lost the use of their
legs while Yayasan Harapan Kanak-Kanak received
RM15,000-00 which will go towards the building
of the Home.
Michael Borostyan, Hotel Nikko
Kuala Lumpur's newly-appointed General Manager
presented the cheques to Encik Saiful Azhar Abdullah,
the Deputy Editor of Malay Mail and YBhg Tan Sri
Datin Paduka Seri Hajjah Zaleha Ismail, Head of
Advisors Board for Yayasan Harapan Kanak-kanak
Malaysia (YHKM) at a simple cheque presentation
ceremony on 28th March 2007 at the Main Lobby
