In conjunction with Citrawarna
Malaysia 2007 celebration, Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur
played host to the State of Pahang, the largest
state in Peninsula Malaysia. The Deputy Chief
Minister of Pahang, YB Dato' Haji Tan Mohd Aminuddin
was one hand to launch off the event, Pahang Fest
which was held at Café Serena Brasserie from 28th
May to 4th June 2007. The memorable event was
witnessed by many distinguished guests including
YB Dato' Maznah Mazlan, Chairman of Culture, Arts
and Tourism of Pahang, the Hotel's corporate guests
and the Sales & Marketing team of Hotel Nikko
Kuala Lumpur. Michael Borostyan, General Manager
of Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur and YB Dato' Haji
Tan Aminuddin gave their welcome speech before
the event was ceremoniously launched, by hitting
a traditional 'gong'.
Guests were feted with extensive
buffet dinner spread, mainly selections of authentic
Pahang delights specially prepared by the culinary
expert from Pahang, Chef Abdul Wahab and his two-member
team. Emcee for the evening, the celebrated Mahadzir
Lokman was on hand to offer an in-depth insight
into the different cultural dances performed throughout
the evening by the 20-member cultural troupe from
the Pahang Tourism Action Council. Pahang craftsmen
were also present to demonstrate the fine art
of silk weaving and basket weaving throughout
the promotion period.
