Spices of Northern India at Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur

 

 

His Excellency Ashok K. Kantha, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia launched the 'Spices of Northern India' featuring two Indian culinary experts, Chef Vishal Nigam and Harcharan Singh recently at Café Serena Brasserie, Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur. Other guests were present for the launch was Michael Borostyan, General Manager of Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur and the hotel's top corporate supports.

Guests were feted to experience an exquisite array of delicious buffet spread of Northern India dishes, specially prepared by invited Indian Chefs Vishal Nigam and Harcharan Singh such as Murgh Malai Tikka, Tandoori Phal Ke Keba, Fruit Chat, Mutton Shorba, Chicken Aftaab, Bhindi-do-piazaa, Fish Nellore Curry, Aloo Jeera, Kashmiri Pulao. Entertainment for the night were a Peacock Dance and a four-piece Indian musical band.

Chef Vishal Nigam has made his mark in many well-known restaurants and hotels where he began his humble career as a Demi Chef de Partie. He was also the Chef de Partie at The Park Royal, The Grand Intercontinental and Marriot Hotel in New Delhi. He moved to Switzerland to become an Indian Chef and later to Doha. Currently, he is the Sous Chef at The Metropolitan Hotel, New Delhi. His current responsibilities include overseeing The Chutney Restaurant, an authentic Indian Restaurant at The Metropolitan Hotel.

Chef Harcharan Singh who is also from The Metropolitan Hotel, New Delhi is currently a Commis 1. He joined the Hotel in the year of 2006 upon completing his 3-year apprenticeship in New Delhi itself.
