Witnessed by many guests, the
Kwong Ngai Lion Dance troupe put up an amazing
Acrobatic Lion Dance performance at Hotel Nikko
Kuala Lumpur’s main lobby on 13th February
2008. This troupe has participated in many distinguished
Lion Dance competitions better known as ‘Yan
Yat’ or Everybody’s Birthday Day,
has won numerous competitions for their acrobatic
feats and skills, and was the 1st
Runner-up Malaysia & Singapore Lion Dance
Competition in Johor (2006) and
1st Runner-up Malaysia Lion Dance
Competition (2007).
The 45- member Kwong Ngai troupe
with two ‘lions’ performed at various
parts of the Hotel including all the offices and
Food & Beverage outlets, amidst the sounds
of clashing cymbals and Chinese drums.
The one-hour performance culminated
with the two ‘lions’ presenting the
‘pot of prosperity’ to Hotel Nikko
Kuala Lumpur’s newly-appointed Resident
Manager, Ron Brooks.
