Hotel Nikko Kuala Lumpur is pleased
to announce the recent appointment of Michael
Borostyan as its new General Manager.

Of Australian nationality, 41
year old Mr Borostyan is highly regarded in the
industry for his immense knowledge in overall
hotel operations and management as well as for
his sharp business acumen.
Mr Borostyan's involvement in the hospitality
industry began in December 1984 when he joined
the Townsville International as Food & Beverage
Duty Manager. In 1987 he commenced working for
Southern Pacific Hotels, an association that lasted
twelve years. During this period, Mr Borostyan's
served at various properties under the group and
accumulated a wealth of experience in particular
in the Rooms division. In January 1999, he diversified
into the Food and Beverage division when he was
appointed as the Executive Assistant Manager for
InterContinental Wellington and was solely responsible
for the operations and profitability of the Food
and Beverage division.
His 23-year hospitality career has included General
Manager positions at Rydges Auckland and Rydges
Capricorn Resort in Australia. Previous to this
new appointment, he was the General Manager for
Crown Plaza Auckland, which is part of the InterContinental
Hotels Group.
Mr Borostyan graduated from University of South
Australia with an MBA in 2003. He was also awarded
the 'Most Outstanding Student' award by the Australian
Institute of Management and University of South
Australia in 2000 where he completed his Post
Graduate Diploma in Management.
