On Friday, 8 December 2006, approximately
60 members of the Chaine des Rotisseurs and their
partners gathered together at Hotel Nikko Kuala
lumpur for an early Christmas celebration.
The Chaine des Rotissuers is
an international gastronomic society that was
founded in Paris in 1950 with the objective of
bringing together professionals (such as chefs,
restaurant and hotel owners and managers) and
non-professional members from around the world
who appreciate wine, cuisine, fine dining and
camaraderie.

Each member is fortunate to be
part of a Society that has a long culinary history
and tradition which is still promoted and celebrated
today through the Chaīne's extensive international,
national and local events. "Grand Chapitres",
gala events which celebrate the induction of new
members, are organised by the "Bailliages". While
activities vary from country to country, all "Bailliages"
offer fine dining events, often black tie, in
the best local restaurants and hotels, as well
as less formal occasions such as "Dīners Amical".
The 'Noel at The Nikko' is one such less formal
occasions.

The Junior Ballroom of the Hotel
was transformed to depict a 'White Christmas'
theme complete with flowing chiffon drapes and
twinkling lights from the ceiling and all round
the room. The ambience was further accentuated
with white candles on ice sculptures. Guests were
feted to a lavish menu which featured pre dinner
canapes accompanied by Bollinger Champagne and
a traditional 5-course menu. Each course was paired
with a fine selection of wines such as Kendall
Jackson Grand Reserve Merlot, Marimar Torres Russian
Rivery Valley Chardonnay, Torres Vina Esmerald
and more, courtesy of Bacardi Martini Malaysia
Sdn Bhd.
Fine wines, great food and fantastic company
would not be complete without cigars and Trinidad
Group of Companies was on hand to share some of
their finest cigars with cigar aficionados at
the end of a perfect meal. The evening ended with
more merry making as guests take to the dance
floor and party on till the wee hours of the morning.
